THE BEAR’S HISTORY:

The club was originally founded in 1987 as the Tucabia Bears Football Club.

We rebranded to the Yuraygir United Football Club in early 2016 to better represent the broader coastal communities we serve, including Ulmarra, Pillar Valley, Tucabi, Grafton, Wooli and Minnie Water.

Congratulations to the 2025 YUFC Women's Team ~ NOMINEES for the 2025 Senior Team of the Year at the 2025 Clarence Valley Sports Awards.

If there’s one thing our Bears squad perfected in 2025, it was embracing the beautiful mayhem of a brand‑new, incredibly tricky, wet, messy, stressy and away-from-home season — and doing it with serious Bear spirit.

The YUFC registered our FIRST EVER Women’s team last year, a magic mix of women of all ages, with some experienced players, and lots of legends who laced up for their first ever game of soccer. Through wins, losses, injuries, wild roster challenges, and games where we battled through with just 7–10 players… our Bears women never once backed down.

They showed up. They supported each other.

They supported our club. They played with heart.

And they wore the Bears' spirit with pride every single week.

From selling (and buying) raffle tickets, cheering on (and running on) for the Senior Men’s teams on Saturdays, (some of us), turning up to training no matter how chaotic life got, and feeding each other both literally and emotionally on the sidelines on Tuesday nights — the Bears stuck it out & through allll season.

Tonight, representatives of the 2026 YUFC Committee & the 2025 Women’s Team are heading to The Clarence Valley Sports Awards at the Yamba Bowling & Recreation Club for the Presentation Night, and no matter what happens…

The 2025 YUFC Bears are already winners in our eyes. Go get ’em, Bears! 🐻❤️
